Classic Rock Artists

Electric guitar, bass and drum-kit arrangements sit at the core of classic rock, with songs commonly built around prominent riffs, steady backbeats and direct vocal hooks. The style covers a broad stretch of rock rather than one fixed sound: blues-based guitar work, hard-rock weight, pop-minded choruses and album-scale production can all fit within it. The Beatles, Queen and Led Zeppelin point to different ends of that range, from concise melodic songwriting to layered vocals and heavier amplified attack. Compared with pop rock, classic rock usually gives the band arrangement and guitar part more room; compared with hard rock, it can be less forceful and more song-driven.
