Warner Records

Warner Records Inc. is one of Warner Music Group’s flagship labels and traces its origins to the recorded music division of Warner Bros. Pictures, founded on March 19, 1958. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the label operates as a subsidiary of Warner Music Group and has long been associated with major-label pop and mainstream repertoire in the United States and internationally.

In 2019, the company adopted the Warner Records name as a rebranding of Warner Bros. Records. The change followed the expiration of Warner Music Group’s license to use the “Warner Bros.” name and the studio’s shield logo in connection with the label. Warner Records launched an updated visual identity at the time, including a new logo designed by Pentagram. Pentagram also created a new logo for Warner Chappell Music, another Warner Music Group subsidiary that had previously used the Warner Bros. shield.

Warner Records’ contemporary roster reflects a broad, current-facing musical identity across pop, hip-hop, and country. The label’s releases include work by pop artists such as Dua Lipa and Nessa Barrett, hip-hop artists including NLE Choppa, and country and singer-songwriter acts such as Zach Bryan and Warren Zeiders. Artists like Teddy Swims, Michael Marcagi, and Loso Brim further illustrate the label’s range across mainstream pop, emerging singer-songwriter material, and rap.

As an American label within a major music group, Warner Records continues the legacy of the Warner-branded recorded music business while operating under its post-2019 name and branding. Its Los Angeles base and position within Warner Music Group place it at the center of the company’s frontline recorded music operations.
