How Tracknack works

A follow is any followed artist or record label. We look for new music released by your follows and put it in a Spotify playlist for you.

Tracknack allows you to follow anyone involved in creating music - from the perfomers to producers, songwriters, session musicians and mixing engineers. Just follow them as you would any other artist.

Tracknack looks for new releases that feature the artist you follow or have been put out by labels you follow. To find music by your followed artist, Tracknack analyzes album and track credits imported from Discogs. To give you the full experience as fast as possible Tracknack might initially select music that has been released in the past couple of months but afterwards will only add completely new releases.

You will! You will receive an email notification whenever your playlist gets updated to make sure you don't miss the new music. You can turn this off if you don't need it.

Tracknack uses ChatGPT by OpenAI to provide you with personalized recommendations of artists to follow. You can use this feature to discover new music or to find artists similar to those you already follow. To generate recommendations we use your recently listened artists as well as the artists you follow on Tracknack or Spotify.

All Tracknack requires is the ability to update your playlist and let you know via email when an update happens. For a more personalized experience, Tracknack also imports data from your recent listening history and your saved music in order to provide relevant follow suggestions for you. We are committed to never abusing the privileges you grant us. If you suspect something fishy is happening, you can always delete your Tracknack account or revoke Tracknack’s access to your profile in your Spotify account settings (but please let us know first if you feel something’s not right).

The current version of Tracknack is just the beginning. There’s still lots to improve in the existing functionality and new features to build. We would like Tracknack to become a more fully fledged music discovery tool with more ways to explore music and more automation, e.g. recommendations based on music listened by others like you.
