Elton John, a British singer, pianist, and composer, became one of the biggest music icons of the 20th century with his unique blend of pop and rock styles. With over 250 million albums sold, he ranks among the best-selling musicians ever.
Showing musical talent from a young age, he attended the prestigious Academy of Music on a scholarship at just eleven years old. In 1970, he released his first self-titled album, skyrocketing him to international fame.
Among his most famous hits are “Your Song”, “Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going to Be a Long, Long Time)”, “Crocodile Rock”, “Candle In the Wind”, “Philadelphia Freedom”, “I’m Still Standing”, and “Sacrifice”.
Elton John is his stage name. Born as Reginald Dwight, he legally changed it in 1972.
