David Guetta

David Guetta, born Pierre David Guetta in Paris on 7 November 1967, is a French DJ and record producer whose records have sold more than 10 million albums and 65 million singles worldwide. He began his album career with Just a Little More Love in 2002, followed by Guetta Blaster in 2004 and Pop Life in 2007, building a catalogue rooted in house and dance music before reaching a far broader pop audience.

His fourth album, One Love, arrived in 2009 and became his mainstream breakthrough. Its singles included “When Love Takes Over,” featuring Kelly Rowland; “Gettin’ Over You,” with Chris Willis featuring Fergie and LMFAO; “Sexy Bitch,” featuring Akon; and “Memories,” featuring Kid Cudi. “When Love Takes Over,” “Gettin’ Over You,” and “Sexy Bitch” each reached number one in the United Kingdom. In 2013, Billboard ranked “When Love Takes Over” as the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time.

Guetta followed with Nothing but the Beat in 2011. The album produced a run of international singles including “Where Them Girls At,” featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj; “Little Bad Girl,” featuring Taio Cruz and Ludacris; “Without You,” featuring Usher; “Titanium,” featuring Sia; and “Turn Me On,” featuring Nicki Minaj. His seventh album, 7, was released in 2018 and included 12 tracks issued under his Jack Back alias.

In 2019, Guetta announced the EDM subgenre future rave with producer Morten Breum. The pair released the collaborative EP New Rave in July 2020. Guetta and Bebe Rexha’s 2022 single “I’m Good (Blue)” became the third longest-running chart-topper on Billboard’s US Dance/Electronic chart.

His awards include two Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, six Electronic Dance Music Awards and a Billboard Music Award. He was voted number one in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll in 2011, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025. In June 2021, Guetta sold his recorded-music catalogue for an estimated US$100 million to US$150 million.
