Mad Decent is an American record label founded by Diplo, with roots described as Los Angeles via Philadelphia. Its releases have brought club-focused sounds from different regions into a wider dance-music circuit, helping introduce Brazilian baile funk and Angolan kuduro to clubs around the world.

In the early 2010s, Mad Decent became closely associated with moombahton, the electronic dance style created by DJ Dave Nada. Dillon Francis helped bring the sound to a broader audience through his 2012 collaboration with Diplo, “Que Que.” The label’s artist roster has also included Major Lazer, Kito, Aluna and Jam City, alongside earlier releases from Rusko, Baauer, Crookers, Riff Raff and Bosco Delrey.

Beyond its records, Mad Decent is known for the Mad Decent Block Party, a concert and outdoor dance-party series staged in major cities across the United States and Canada. The events extended the label’s club-minded approach into large-scale live settings, bringing together electronic music, rap and international dance sounds.
