Hardwell, the stage name of Dutch DJ and record producer Robbert van de Corput, broke through in 2009 with his bootleg of “Show Me Love vs. Be.” Born in Breda on 7 January 1988, he became closely associated with large-scale festival sets and the rise of big-room electronic dance music in the early 2010s. His appearances have included Ultra Music Festival, Sunburn and Tomorrowland.

In 2010, Hardwell founded Revealed Recordings, a label that became a central outlet for his releases and compilation projects. A year later he launched Hardwell On Air, a radio show and podcast. Through Revealed, he has released 10 compilation albums, alongside two documentary films. His first studio album, United We Are, arrived on 23 January 2015.

DJ Mag voted Hardwell the world’s number one DJ in its Top 100 DJs poll in 2013 and again in 2014. He announced an indefinite break from touring on 7 September 2018, saying he wanted to focus more on his personal life. On 27 March 2022, he returned to the touring circuit by closing Ultra Miami’s main stage with his second album, Rebels Never Die. Later that year, he ranked number 43 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll.
