Salute first drew attention in the early 2010s with remixes of Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat” and Sam Smith’s “Money on My Mind,” made and released while they were still a teenager, around the age of 16. Born Felix Angyumanu Nyajo, the Austrian DJ and record producer is based in England and records under the name Salute.
Across the 2010s and 2020s, Salute built a catalogue of EPs including Lionheart and Fields in 2013, Gold Rush in 2015, the three-part Condition series between 2018 and 2019, lyali in 2020, Ultra Pool in 2022, and Shield in 2023. Their releases move through house, UK garage, speed garage, French house and dance-pop forms, with electronic production at the centre.
Salute released the mini-album My Heart in 2016, followed by their full-length debut True Magic on 12 July 2024. The album entered the UK Dance Albums Chart at No. 5. Salute is signed to the English independent label Ninja Tune.
