!K7 Records

!K7 Records was created by Stud!o K7 as their label for audio releases. Previously, their label was simply branded !K7.

Their logo is "!K7®," with the ® often misunderstood as a registered trademark, though it is a stylized abbreviation of "Records".

!K7 Records was initiated in 1996 as a techno, House & massive Breaks label from Berlin, Germany. Launched alongside the successful "DJ-Kicks" mix compilation series, the label was developed to serve as a long-term platform for artistic and musical innovation. Early productions by pioneering artists like Nicolette, K-Hand, Nick Holder, and Terrence Parker received critical acclaim. Additionally, they began a label collaboration with G-Stone Recordings, Kruder & Dorfmeister's label, which proved to be a very successful partnership. Together with !K7, releases by Kruder & Dorfmeister, Tosca, and Peace Orchestra became some of the most esteemed (and successful) electronic releases ever.

Further acquisitions featured internationally renowned artists Smith & Mighty, Ian Simmonds, A Guy Called Gerald, Herbert feat. Dani Siciliano, and Rae & Christian. German producers such as Shantel, Funkstörung, and Terranova were also brought on board and have now progressed into the global league of electronic musicians. In the new millennium, promising new talents such as Swayzak, Earl Zinger, Spacek, Mike Ladd, and Ghost Cauldron have signed with !K7 and have augmented their roster of top-tier artists.

Meanwhile, the DJ-Kicks series, featuring mix CDs by Kruder & Dorfmeister, Kid Loco, Rockers Hi-Fi, Nightmares On Wax, Thievery Corporation, Playgroup, and Tiga advanced to become known as the "most important DJ mix series ever" (Mixmag). !K7 Records has since evolved into a high-profile label with offices in Berlin, London, and New York.

NOTE: Some !K7 releases come with a catalog number that begins with !K7R, while others start with !K7. These are not interchangeable, as they reuse the same numbers in each series (i.e., !K7R001 and !K7001 would not refer to the same release). Ensure you use the correct prefix for submissions to avoid errors and duplicates.
