Todd Edwards
Edwards' music has been acknowledged as a significant influence on the emerging UK garage genre in the UK during the mid-1990s. He gained recognition for his intensive sampling and remixing technique, which involves chopping vocal samples into tiny sections. This intricate vocal sampling method, applied both on his solo projects and remixes for other artists, can sometimes make the original track nearly unrecognizable.
With remixes in the hundreds, Edwards has reworked tracks for artists such as Wildchild, St. Germain, Benjamin Diamond, Justice, Klaxons, and Dimitri from Paris. He co-produced and lent his vocals to the Daft Punk track “Face to Face” from the album Discovery. Edwards collaborated once more with Daft Punk by co-writing, co-producing, and providing vocals for the song “Fragments of Time” from their 2013 album Random Access Memories, earning him a Grammy.
