Disclosure
Disclosure is an English electronic music duo made up of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence. Raised in Reigate, Surrey, the pair emerged in the 2010s as part of a wave of UK dance music that brought club-oriented production into a pop-facing context without leaving behind house and UK dance influences.
The duo’s debut studio album, Settle, was released on 3 June 2013 by PMR Records. The record became a major early statement of their sound and was recognised internationally, earning a nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. That nomination placed Disclosure among the most visible British electronic acts of the period and helped frame their work in album terms rather than only as singles or DJ-led releases.
Disclosure followed with a second studio album, Caracal, released on 25 September 2015. It continued their focus on tightly structured electronic songwriting and was again nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album, this time at the 2016 Grammy Awards. The repeat nomination underscored the duo’s consistency across projects and their ability to sustain attention beyond a debut cycle.
Their third studio album, Energy, arrived on 28 August 2020. It received another nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards. In the same year, “My High,” the fourth single from Energy, was nominated for Best Dance Recording, marking a parallel recognition of Disclosure’s work at both the album and track level.
