Lil Baby
Lil Baby’s second studio album, My Turn, spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 in 2020, became that year’s best-selling album in the United States, and earned quadruple-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The Atlanta rapper followed it with hits including “We Paid” with 42 Dugg and “The Bigger Picture,” a single inspired by the George Floyd protests. Both reached the Billboard Hot 100 top ten, while “The Bigger Picture” received Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
Born Dominique Armani Jones on December 3, 1994, Lil Baby is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Atlanta. He rose to prominence through the 2017 mixtapes Harder than Hard and Too Hard. “My Dawg,” the lead single from Harder than Hard, gave him his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. He signed with Quality Control Music, an imprint of Motown and Capitol Records, before releasing his debut studio album, Harder Than Ever, in 2018.
Harder Than Ever reached number three on the Billboard 200 and included “Yes Indeed,” his Drake collaboration, which became a Billboard Hot 100 top-ten hit. Later in 2018, Lil Baby teamed with fellow Georgia rapper Gunna for the collaborative mixtape Drip Harder, whose single “Drip Too Hard” became his second top-ten entry. That year also brought the solo mixtape Street Gossip, which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200.
He and Chicago rapper Lil Durk released The Voice of the Heroes in 2021, giving Lil Baby his second project to top the Billboard 200. His appearance on Kanye West and the Weeknd’s “Hurricane” won Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 64th Grammy Awards. His next solo albums, It’s Only Me in 2022 and WHAM in 2025, both debuted atop the Billboard 200. It’s Only Me produced the top-ten singles “California Breeze,” “Forever” featuring Fridayy, and “Real Spill,” while WHAM included the top-20 collaboration “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber” with Future and Young Thug.
In addition to his Grammy Award, Lil Baby has won an MTV Video Music Award and two BET Awards, and Apple Music named him its all-genre Artist of the Year in 2020. In 2023, he founded Glass Window Entertainment, previously known as 4PF, as an imprint of Motown and Capitol, signing frequent collaborators 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez.
