DaBaby reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with “Rockstar,” his 2020 collaboration with Roddy Ricch. The single spent seven non-consecutive weeks at number one following that year’s George Floyd protests, earned quintuple-platinum certification from the RIAA, and received a Record of the Year nomination at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

Born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk on December 22, 1991, he is an American rapper from Cleveland who first performed as Baby Jesus before adopting the name DaBaby. He released several mixtapes between 2014 and 2018, then signed with Interscope Records in January 2019. His debut studio album, Baby on Baby, arrived that year and produced “Suge,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten a month after its release.

His second album, Kirk, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2019. It included the singles “Intro” and “Bop,” while DaBaby also appeared that year on Post Malone’s “Enemies” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Cash Shit.” In 2020, Blame It on Baby also peaked on the Billboard 200, led by “Rockstar.”

That same year, DaBaby appeared on Jack Harlow’s “Whats Poppin” remix and Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”; both songs peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Following controversies regarding homophobia, he released the collaborative mixtape Better than You with YoungBoy Never Broke Again in 2022, then issued his fourth studio album, Baby on Baby 2, later that year. His fifth album, Be More Grateful, was released in 2026 and included the top-40 single “Pop Dat Thang.”
