Future

Future became the first hip-hop artist to score three number-one albums in a single year, and in less than six months, when Mixtape Pluto joined his 2024 collaborations with Metro Boomin, We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You, at the top of the Billboard 200. Born Nayvadius DeMun Cash, née Wilburn, on November 20, 1983, he was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Working as a rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer, he built a style around rap-singing and Auto-Tuned delivery that helped define trap music's mainstream sound.

He signed with Rocko's A1 Recordings in 2011, before the label entered a joint venture with Epic Records. His first albums, Pluto (2012) and Honest (2014), brought critical and commercial success through singles including “Turn On the Lights,” “Honest,” “Move That Dope,” featuring Pharrell Williams and Pusha T, and “I Won,” featuring Kanye West. DS2 (2015) and Evol (2016) followed, led by “Where Ya At” with Drake and “Low Life” with the Weeknd.

In 2017, Future released the albums Future and Hndrxx in consecutive weeks, becoming the first musical act to send two projects to number one on the Billboard 200 in back-to-back weeks. “Mask Off,” from Future, became his first top-ten entry on the Billboard Hot 100. His run also includes collaborative projects: 2015's Beast Mode with Zaytoven, 56 Nights with Southside, and What a Time to Be Alive with Drake, which produced “Jumpman”; later releases include Super Slimey with Young Thug, Wrld on Drugs with Juice Wrld, and Pluto x Baby Pluto with Lil Uzi Vert.

After leaving A1, he released The Wizrd in 2019 and High Off Life in 2020. The latter included the diamond-certified Drake collaboration “Life Is Good.” Future reached number one on the Hot 100 for the first time as a guest alongside Young Thug on Drake's 2021 single “Way 2 Sexy.” His 2022 album I Never Liked You produced “Wait for U,” featuring Drake and Tems, his first Hot 100 number one as a lead artist; the song won Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. Future has received three Grammy Awards from 15 nominations and holds the record for the most number-one albums on the US Top Rap Albums chart, with 16.
