Travis Scott

RapSlap House

Jacques Bermon Webster II, born on April 30, 1991, and internationally known as Travis Scott (formerly stylized as Travi$ Scott), is an American rapper and producer hailing from Missouri City, Texas, in the Houston Metropolitan area. Scott began creating and sharing beats on Myspace at the age of 16.

He relocated to Los Angeles after leaving The University of Texas at San Antonio following his sophomore year, adopting the name Travi$ Scott as a tribute to his uncle named Travis and his musical influence Kid Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi).

After dropping out of the University of Texas at San Antonio without informing his parents, Travis Scott moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career. His parents made an unannounced visit to his former university, which led them to discover his deception. Consequently, they withdrew their financial support. Scott then found himself sleeping on couches, living far away from acquaintances.

With assistance from fellow southern rapper T.I., Scott secured a deal with Epic Records and T.I.’s label, Grand Hustle. He eventually obtained Kanye West’s engineer Anthony Kilhoffer's contact. With Anthony’s support, Scott managed to co-produce tracks on G.O.O.D. Music’s debut album, "Cruel Summer." Following his contribution to the label’s album, Travis signed with G.O.O.D. Music on a producer contract and released his debut solo mixtape, "Owl Pharaoh," with West’s help.

He dropped "Days Before Rodeo" on August 18, 2014, as a prelude to his debut album, "Rodeo," released on September 4, 2015.

Travis Scott released his eagerly awaited sophomore album "Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight" on September 2, 2016, after giving a preview on the .WAV Radio show on Apple’s Beats 1 platform the same morning. Initially an Apple Exclusive, the album was available only on Apple Music for a week before rolling out fully to other marketplaces and streaming services.

His third studio album, "ASTROWORLD," came out on August 3, 2018. The album achieved both critical and commercial success, selling half a million copies in its first week, and topping the US Billboard 200 chart.

La Flame is also the founder and CEO of Cactus Jack Records, a record label that includes Sheck Wes, Don Toliver, SoFaygo, Luxury Tax 50, and Chase B on its roster.

On July 28, 2023, Travis released his much-anticipated fourth full-length studio album, "UTOPIA," after a nearly five-year gap since "ASTROWORLD." The album launched along with the hit single “K-POP,” featuring Bad Bunny and The Weeknd. It shares several similarities with Kanye West’s June 2013 album "Yeezus," on which Travis served as producer.
