His EP, My Dear Melancholy, released on March 30, 2018, touched on themes of past breakups and included "Call Out My Name," which achieved significant streaming success.

The Weeknd's fourth studio album, After Hours, released on March 20, 2020, included successful singles like "Heartless" and "Blinding Lights." The album further solidified his global reach.

In 2021, he released The Highlights, a compilation that coincided with his Super Bowl halftime performance.
