Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny rose from sharing music independently to international prominence after his 2016 song “Diles” led to a recording contract with Hear This Music. Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio on March 10, 1994, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he works as a rapper, singer and record producer, moving between Latin trap, reggaeton and broader Latin urban sounds. Critics have noted his use of salsa, rock and other Latin styles alongside Spanish-language rap, and he is widely credited with helping take that rap into the global mainstream.

His early breakout was followed by major crossover records, including the Billboard Hot 100 number-one “I Like It” with Cardi B and J Balvin, and the top-five Drake collaboration “Mía.” His debut studio album, X 100pre (2018), was included in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In 2019, Forbes named him to its 30 Under 30 list in the Music category.

Bad Bunny’s subsequent albums marked a series of commercial landmarks. YHLQMDLG (2020) was Spotify’s most-streamed album worldwide that year, while all 11 of its tracks charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Later that year, El Último Tour Del Mundo became the first all-Spanish-language album to top the US Billboard 200; its lead single, “Dakiti,” reached number one on the Billboard Global 200. Un Verano Sin Ti (2022) was named the world’s most successful album of the year by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. He followed it with the Billboard 200 chart-toppers Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana (2023) and Debí Tirar Más Fotos (2025), the latter becoming the first Spanish-language album to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

His global number-one singles have also included “Un x100to” with Grupo Frontera, “Where She Goes,” “Mónaco” and “DTMF.” “DTMF” became the first Spanish-language solo song to top the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard named him its Greatest Pop Star of 2022 and 2025, and he was Top Touring Artist of the Year in 2022. His awards include six Grammys, 17 Latin Grammys, eight Billboard Music Awards and 13 Lo Nuestro Awards. In February 2026, he headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show, which drew both acclaim and controversy.

Outside music, Bad Bunny has made occasional appearances in professional wrestling and debuted in the ring at WrestleMania 37 in 2021. A former WWE 24/7 Champion, he has also wrestled at the 2022 Royal Rumble and 2023 Backlash. His screen work includes Bullet Train (2022), Cassandro (2023), Caught Stealing (2025) and Happy Gilmore 2 (2025).
