
21 Savage
Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, professionally recognized as 21 Savage, was born in the London Borough of Newham on October 22, 1992, to parents of Dominican and Haitian heritage. At age seven, he and his mother relocated to East Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. In June 2005, he briefly traveled back to the U.K. for an uncle's funeral, returning to the U.S. less than a month later on an H-4 visa.
He gained initial fame in music with the release of the underground hit "Picky" in November 2014. The next year, he dropped three projects: The Slaughter Tape, Free Guwop, and Slaughter King.
Following a big 2015, Savage was part of the 2016 XXL Freshman Class, with the cover unveiled on June 13, 2016. Shortly after, on July 15, 2016, he released Savage Mode, a collaborative EP with Metro Boomin.
On July 7, 2017, 21 Savage launched his debut studio album, Issa Album. Later that year, on October 31, 2017, he released Without Warning, alongside Offset and Metro.
On December 21, 2018, Savage brought out his second studio album, i am > i was.
On February 3, 2019, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained Savage for overstaying his visa, which expired in 2006. Prior to this, in 2017, he had applied for a US visa to stay in the country. He was released on bond nine days after his arrest.
On October 2, 2020, 21 Savage reunited with Metro Boomin for their sophomore collaborative album, SAVAGE MODE II.
On November 4, 2022, Savage and Drake unveiled their debut collaborative album, Her Loss.
On January 12, 2024, Savage launched his third studio album, american dream.
