Ice Spice

Isis Naija Gaston (born January 1, 2000), known professionally as Ice Spice, is a rapper based in the Bronx, New York City.

Ice Spice started her rap career in 2021, drawing inspiration from artists like Saweetie, Cardi B, and Pop Smoke. Her self-assured lyrics are paired with production that showcases her drill and hip-hop sound, crafted by her in-house producer, Riot.

Her August 2022 single, the lively drill song “Munch (Feelin' U),” catapulted her to internet fame. The track amassed 2.2 million views on YouTube within two weeks and received a co-sign from Drake.

Riding her wave of new success, Ice Spice released another significant single, “In Ha Mood,” which debuted at #85 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts on Feb 14, 2023. Her strong performance with singles led to a $2 million deal with 10K Projects. She later released her debut EP Like…? on January 20, 2023.

Soon after, Ice Spice featured on “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” a remix of PinkPantheress’s popular song, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2023, Ice Spice had a "dream collab" with the remix of her song “Princess Diana” featuring the renowned "queen of rap," Nicki Minaj. In May 2023, Ice participated in another collaboration, "Karma (Remix)" with pop icon Taylor Swift, after expressing through her team how much she admired Taylor's work.

On June 23, 2023, Ice Spice collaborated with Nicki again on “Barbie World,” a key single for the Barbie The Album movie soundtrack. Nearly a month later, on July 21, she released a deluxe version of her debut EP, adding four new tracks and the “Princess Diana” remix with Nicki Minaj.

Heading into 2024, Ice Spice released her next big single, "Think U The Shit (Fart)" on January 26. A snippet of the song went viral on social media platforms almost three weeks before its release, drawing attention due to the unusual phrasing of the chorus and the origin of the lyric. The song debuted at #37 on the Billboard 200. She is set to release her debut studio album Y2K! on July 26, 2024. A deluxe edition titled Y2K! : I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe) is planned for release on Christmas day, featuring five additional new tracks.
