Sampha
Sampha Lahai Sisay is a British singer, songwriter, musician and record producer whose debut album, Process, won the 2017 Mercury Prize. Born on 16 November 1988, he is from Morden in South London and records under the name Sampha.
His solo catalogue began with the EP Sundanza in 2010, followed by Dual in 2013. He released Process through Young on 3 February 2017, bringing his songwriting and production into a full-length format. His second album, Lahai, arrived on 20 October 2023.
Alongside his own work, Sampha has built an extensive collaborative record across R&B, hip hop, electronic music and pop. His collaborators include Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, SBTRKT, Jessie Ware, Alicia Keys, Gorillaz, Florence + the Machine, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Daniel Caesar and Solange.
