Florence + the Machine is an English alternative band, co-founded by frontwoman Florence Welch and keyboardist/producer Isabella Summers. The group was initially managed by Mairead Nash (LuvLuvLuv), who also managed their earlier duo incarnation known as ‘Florence Robot/Isa Machine,’ after Florence Welch serenaded her with Etta James' "Something’s Got A Hold On Me" in a club bathroom in December 2006. The band's current management is handled by Hannah Giannoulis, a member of the original LuvLuvLuv Management team.

The band first gained notoriety in the UK. Their debut album, *Lungs* (2009), achieved Gold status within the first week of release, reached Platinum in under six months, and was 4x Platinum in just over a year. They broke into the U.S. market following an elaborate performance of “Dog Days Are Over” at the 2010 VMAs.

Their second album, *Ceremonials* (2011), debuted at #1 on the charts in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The band embarked on their second arena tour, the *Ceremonials Tour*, with most dates completely selling out.

In July 2012, Florence + the Machine released the Calvin Harris remix of “Spectrum (Say My Name)”, which climbed music charts globally. To date, it remains their best-selling single in the UK.

June 2015 saw the release of their much-anticipated third album, *How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful*. The album, alongside lead singles “Ship to Wreck” and “What Kind of Man,” collectively garnered five GRAMMY Award nominations.

While touring in 2015, the band headlined the Glastonbury Festival on the Pyramid stage, stepping in for Foo Fighters due to injury, to critical acclaim. British newspaper *The Telegraph* lauded the performance as “pop music of the very highest order”.

In 2016, the band contributed to two soundtracks: *Final Fantasy XV* and *Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children* with the song “Wish That You Were Here”.

“Sky Full Of Song” was released on Record Store Day 2018, sparking rumors of a new album. The band officially announced their return in May 2018 with the lead single “Hunger” from their fourth album, *High As Hope*.

In March 2022, the band announced their fifth album *Dance Fever* after sending tarot cards with the title of the first single "King" to fans.
