FKA twigs

FKA twigs, born Tahliah Debrett Barnett on 17 January 1988, is an English singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and dancer from Cheltenham. Before launching her recording career, she worked as a backup dancer for numerous musicians, bringing a performance background that would remain central to her work as a recording artist.

She made her musical debut with the self-released EP EP1 in 2012, followed by EP2 in 2013. Her first studio album, LP1, arrived in 2014 and reached number 16 on the UK Albums Chart and number 30 on the US Billboard 200. The album was nominated for the Mercury Prize that year. In 2015, she released her third EP, M3LL155X.

After a four-year hiatus, FKA twigs returned with her second studio album, Magdalene, in 2019. She later signed with Atlantic Records and released her debut mixtape, Caprisongs, in 2022. Her third and fourth studio albums, Eusexua and Eusexua Afterglow, were released in 2025. In 2026, Eusexua received the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Her music draws on electronic music, trip hop, R&B, hyperpop and avant-garde pop, with songwriting and production that move between intimate vocal work, experimental electronics and dance-oriented rhythms. Across recordings, visual performance and dance, FKA twigs has built a body of work that joins pop form with a broad range of electronic and R&B influences.
