Ed Banger Records

Ed Banger Records emerged from Paris in 2003, when Pedro Winter founded it as a division of Headbangers Entertainment. Often shortened to Ed Rec, the label became a home for French electronic music with a broad club-minded palette: house and French house sit alongside electro, alternative dance, hip hop, nu disco and synthpop.

Winter runs the label and records there himself as Busy P. Its central roster has included Justice, SebastiAn, Cassius, DJ Mehdi, Mr. Oizo, Uffie, Breakbot, Myd, Krazy Baldhead, Mr. Flash, Feadz and So Me, linking the label to artists working across blunt electro, disco-informed dance music, pop structures and hip-hop-inflected production. More recent names associated with Ed Banger include Tatyana Jane, Bethanie Home, Carlita, ADDRESS HYMEN and Leo Pol.

Ed Banger's visual side has been closely tied to So Me, who coordinates most of the label's videos and album artwork. That creative relationship gives the imprint a visual identity alongside its releases, while Pedro Winter's role as founder, manager and recording artist keeps the label connected to its original Paris-based electronic orbit.
