Whethan

Chicago producer and DJ Ethan Snoreck, known as Whethan, first drew attention through rhythm-driven remixes before moving into original electronic pop and future-bass material. Born May 25, 1999, he initially performed as Wheathin before adopting the Whethan name, which came from a nickname given to him by friends at school.

Snoreck began releasing music while still in his teens. At 16, he became the youngest producer to release a record through Australian electronic label Future Classic, according to an earlier Genius biography. While in his junior year of high school, he was booked for festivals including Spring Awakening, UpNorth and HARD Summer. His early SoundCloud work included remixes connected with artists such as TYuS, Louis The Child and ZAYN, and helped establish the buoyant, beat-focused approach heard in his early productions.

His debut original release, “Can’t Hide,” featured vocals from Ashe. The track paired her vocal with playful accompaniment and a fast-moving future-bass arrangement. Whethan's music has also moved between electronic production, pop songwriting, trap-informed EDM and more abrasive rap-adjacent sounds, reflecting a broad approach to collaboration and vocal-led tracks.

He later gained recognition for the 2022 single “Lock It Up” and for his remix of Mssingno’s “XE3.” As of March 2025, the “XE3” remix had received more than 15 million plays on SoundCloud. Whethan has released music through outlets including Wallflower Records, Warner Records, Good Luck Have Fun Records and Big Beat.
