Thundercat
Stephen Bruner, born on October 19, 1984, and better known as Thundercat, is a multi-genre bass player, producer, and singer-songwriter hailing from Los Angeles, California. He has released three solo albums and is widely recognized for his collaborations with producer Flying Lotus and the thrash metal band Suicidal Tendencies. Additionally, he made a significant appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s highly acclaimed March 2015 album, To Pimp a Butterfly, among other projects.
He is the son of Ronald Bruner Sr., a drummer who has worked with Diana Ross, The Temptations, Randy Crawford, and Gladys Knight. Thundercat has two brothers: virtuoso drummer Ronald Bruner Jr. and musician/producer Jameel Bruner, also known as Kintaro.
