Christopher Brent Wood, born on September 19, 1995, and more widely recognized by his stage name Brent Faiyaz, is an American R&B singer-songwriter and producer based in Baltimore, Maryland.
His initial single, "Natural Release," premiered on SoundCloud. On September 19, 2016, Faiyaz released his EP, A.M. Paradox, which caught GoldLink's attention. Just two months later, on December 16, 2016, GoldLink collaborated with Faiyaz and Shy Glizzy (now Young Jefe) to create the hit single "Crew."
On October 13, 2017, Brent released his debut album, Sonder Son.
