Originating from England, Thom Yorke (born 7 October 1968) is most renowned as the frontman and creative force behind the acclaimed alternative rock band Radiohead. Throughout his career, he has worked with other notable artists, such as Björk and Flying Lotus.

His debut solo studio album, The Eraser, was launched in 2006 to positive reviews and chart success in the United States and United Kingdom. The album featured elements of electronica, experimental rock, and alternative rock.

In 2009, he collaborated with bassist Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker from R.E.M., and percussionist Marco Refosco from Forro in the Dark, forming a supergroup to perform The Eraser live. They later became known as Atoms for Peace. Their debut album Amok was released in 2013.

In 2014, Yorke released his second studio album, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, on BitTorrent, which went on to become the most downloaded legal torrent of the year, quickly reaching 4.5 million downloads within six months. It was later available on his Bandcamp (and subsequently removed in 2017), as well as Apple Music.

In June 2019, Yorke released his third solo album, titled ANIMA, along with a short film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It features more of the stuttering beats and textures from Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, as well as the grooves and fusion of live instrumentation with electronics from Atoms For Peace.
