Pierce The Veil
Pierce The Veil is a post-hardcore band from San Diego, California, formed in 2006. They have released five studio albums so far: A Flair for the Dramatic (2007), Selfish Machines (2010), Collide with the Sky (2012), Misadventures (2016), and The Jaws of Life (2023). Their comeback single, “Pass the Nirvana,” was released in September 2022 as the first track from their anticipated fifth album.
The original members included brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes, Tony Perry, and Jaime Preciado. Mike Fuentes left the band in 2017 due to allegations of sexual misconduct.
Pierce The Veil has woven elements of traditional Mexican music into their unique sound, with Vic Fuentes referring to it as “mexi-core,” a fusion of heavy music and Spanish influences. In a track-by-track discussion of Selfish Machines, Vic Fuentes mentioned that the band aims to include at least some Latin influence in every song, showcasing it fully in “Besitos.”
