Shermanology

Shermanology is the Dutch electronic duo of Curaçao-born siblings Andy and Dorothy Sherman, who have built their work around the overlap of DJing, singing and production. Formed in 2009, the pair work in house and electronic dance music while bringing live vocal presence into their records and sets.

The duo's releases have connected them with a broad range of house music platforms, including Defected, Demand, Cuttin Headz and Hot Creations. Their independent single “Boyz N Da Club” was named Annie Mac's “Hottest Record in the World” on BBC Radio 1. Shermanology also joined FISHER for “It's A Killa,” released through his Catch & Release label, and have produced remixes for Todd Edwards, Rudimental and Tiesto.

Collaboration has been a recurring part of their catalogue. Shermanology worked with Boyz II Men on a house reimagining of the R&B group's “Motownphilly,” issued by Three Six Zero Records. The project has also taken its music to festival stages including Kappa Futur Festival, Miami's LaLaLand Festival, Beat-Herder in the UK, Rio's The Town, and the Martinez Brothers-curated Cuttin Headz events.

As performers, Andy and Dorothy Sherman combine the roles of selectors, vocalists and producers rather than treating them as separate sides of the project. That approach runs through Shermanology's house-focused output, from independent releases to collaborations and remixes for established dance and pop artists.
