A New York City label established in 1991 by Mike Weiss and his father, Sam Weiss. Mike initially revived his father's Sam Records in 1989 before following advice from Frankie Crocker to create a label under his own identity. The label's name originated from hip-hop DJ Chuck Chillout, who dubbed Mike 'Captain Nervous' because of his energetic demeanor. The iconic logo was crafted by Marc Cozza.
