Black Book Records
Chris Lake started Black Book in 2017 with Ian Massoth, not long after HOWSLA wound down. The brief wasn't a sound so much as a route, getting producers from the bedroom to the stage, and Lake has talked about the label doing the unglamorous parts of that: management, accounting, the decisions that come after the record.
What it releases is house, most of it aimed at clubs, and the sleeves do the work of a house style: illustrated, storybook-like, consistent across the catalogue. Miane, Wade and HoneyLuv came up through it. Lake's own records go there too, including "Turn Off The Lights" in 2018.
