Peggy Gou is a DJ, record producer, and fashion designer from South Korea, based in Berlin.

Her birth name is Kim Min-ji, and she was born on July 3, 1991, in Incheon, South Korea. At 14, her parents sent her to London, England, to study English. She returned to Korea at 18 but went back to London six months later to study fashion at the London College of Fashion. After graduating, she worked as the London correspondent editor for Harper’s Bazaar Korea, before moving to Berlin, Germany.

Peggy's DJ career started in 2009 in Korea, where a friend taught her to mix not only with vinyl. She learned music production in 2013 using Ableton, and completed her first track, Hungboo, in 2014. In London and Soho clubs, she became known for her mixing skills.

In 2016, she signed with the UK independent label Rekids and debuted with the Art of War EP.

In 2017, Peggy's fame grew: she debuted at Boiler Room in New York City and performed at Berlin's exclusive nightclub Berghain. That year, she played over a hundred live gigs worldwide, including at major music festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, Sonar, and Primavera Sound, as well as Virgil Abloh’s Off-White fashion show.

By 2018, Peggy released seven EPs with labels like Ninja Tune and Phonica, featuring Seek for Maktoop, Once, and Moment.

2019 was significant for the Korean artist: Forbes named her among Asian leaders under 30; she launched her fashion label KIRIN (“giraffe” in Korean) in February; in March, announced her independent record label, Gudu Records (gudu means “shoes” in Korean); in June, she released DJ-Kicks: Peggy Gou for Berlin-based label !K7, marking her first Billboard chart appearance, reaching 9th in Dance/Electronic Album Sales.
