Arca

Alejandra Ghersi Rodríguez, known professionally as Arca, is a Venezuelan musician and record producer based in Barcelona, Spain. She first released music under the name Nuuro, a moniker that predates the work that later introduced her to a wider audience as Arca.

After attending the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Ghersi began issuing recordings under the Arca name with the EP Baron Libre in 2012. She followed it with the EPs Stretch 1 and Stretch 2. The second of those releases marked an early point of definition in her catalogue, experimenting with hip hop and drawing attention from prominent music publications. Alongside her primary stage name, she has also been credited and referred to under a range of aliases and variants, including Experimental Diva, Doña Arca, Madre Arca, Alejandra Ghersi, アルカ, and Alejandro Ghersi.
