Brian Eno
Brian Eno (born May 15, 1948) is an English musician, composer, and producer known for his significant influence on electronic music, art rock, and drone music. He is credited with coining the term "ambient music" in the 1970s. His extensive discography includes collaborations with artists like Talking Heads, David Bowie, Robert Fripp, Luciano Pavarotti, U2, Coldplay, and many others.
Eno began his musical journey as a member of the glam rock band Roxy Music. After two years of playing keyboards with them, he left in 1973 to pursue solo projects. His career evolved as he incorporated visual and spatial dimensions into his music. His efforts to merge music and technology led to collaboration with various programmers to create interactive music software known as Generative Music. In 2019, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Roxy Music.
Eno also received the Stephen Hawking Award in 2019, alongside Elon Musk, in recognition of his contributions to popularizing science.
