Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan Mellet, known professionally as Troye Sivan, is an Australian singer-songwriter and actor whose early following on YouTube and in Australian talent competitions led to a recording deal with EMI Australia in 2013. His first releases quickly crossed into the US market: the 2014 EP TRXYE reached number five on the Billboard 200, while debut single “Happy Little Pill” entered Australia’s Top 10.

Sivan followed TRXYE with the 2015 EP Wild and his first full-length album, Blue Neighbourhood, later that year. The album included “Youth,” a multi-platinum single and his first Top 40 entry on the US Billboard Hot 100. His second studio album, Bloom, arrived in 2018 and charted near the top in both Australia and the United States. Its lead single, “My My My!”, became his second number-one song on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.

In 2023, Sivan released his third studio album, Something to Give Each Other, which topped the ARIA Albums chart. Its singles “Rush” and “Got Me Started” brought three Grammy Award nominations. As of 2024, he had sold 10 million albums worldwide. Rolling Stone Australia included him among the country’s 50 greatest artists of all time in 2020.

Alongside music, Sivan has maintained an acting career. He played the younger Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, then starred as the title character in the Spud film trilogy from 2010 to 2014. He later had a supporting role in Boy Erased, for which “Revelation” received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song in 2018. His subsequent screen work includes the film Three Months and the HBO series The Idol. In 2017, he became the youngest recipient of the GLAAD Stephen F. Kolzak Award.
