Theus Mago

Theus Mago is the stage name of Mexican DJ and producer Mateo González, who has also released music under the aliases Bufi and Mateo Gonzalez Bufi. Working primarily within dark disco, he is associated with a strain of club music that draws on darker tones and driving rhythms while remaining rooted in dancefloor formats.

González has issued recordings as Theus Mago across a range of electronic labels, reflecting an output that moves between underground club circuits and more widely distributed imprints. His releases have appeared on labels including DGTL, Exploited, Defected Records, Eskimo Recordings, and Octopus Recordings, placing his work in contexts that span dark disco and adjacent electronic styles.

Beyond his solo work, González is a co-founder of Duro. Under the Theus Mago name and his alternate monikers, he has maintained an active release profile that connects Mexican electronic music with international label networks, while keeping his production centered on dark disco aesthetics.
