Octopus Recordings
Sian started Octopus in 2008 because the records he was making had nowhere obvious to go. He'd been releasing through Poker Flat and Aus, and what he was writing by then, techno with heavy bass and warped vocals under it, didn't belong on either.
He has described the target as mainroom techno with some intelligence in it, which is a narrow gap to aim at, and most of the catalogue sits in it. The label runs its own radio show and its own club nights, which he treats as the part that explains what the records are for.
