Sabrina Carpenter

Philadelphia-native Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter (born May 11, 1999) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She made her acting debut as a child in Season 12, Episode 12 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2013 and 2014, she voiced Princess Vivian on Disney Junior’s Sofia The First.

In 2014, Carpenter secured her first significant acting role as Maya Hart on Disney’s Girl Meets World, a spinoff of the popular sitcom Boy Meets World, where she performed the theme song “Take On the World” alongside Rowan Blanchard. That same year, she released her first single, “Can’t Blame A Girl For Trying”, which earned a Radio Disney Music Award.

In 2014, she signed with Hollywood Records and released her debut EP, Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying. Her debut studio album, Eyes Wide Open, followed in 2015. In 2016, she released the lead single “On Purpose” ahead of her second studio album EVOLution, in which she ventured into a more mature pop sound with dance and tropical house influences.

In 2018, the pop artist from Philly released her third album, Singular: Act I, with Act II following a year later.

Carpenter’s fifth studio album, emails i can’t send, came out in July 2022, with singles starting from September 2021, including “skinny dipping,” February 2022’s “Fast Times,” and July 2021's “Vicious.” The album track “because i liked a boy” later became a single and was certified gold.

In April 2024, Carpenter launched the single “Espresso”, marking her breakthrough hit by reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming her first top ten entry and highest ranking on the chart. This was followed by announcing her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet, and releasing the second single “Please Please Please” in June, which surpassed “Espresso” to become her first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Short n' Sweet was released on August 23, 2024, alongside the third single “Taste”.
