Purple Disco Machine

International DJ, producer, and remixer Tino Piontek, known as Purple Disco Machine, has been on a remarkable musical journey since creating his successful disco house music project in 2009.

The artist from Dresden has achieved numerous milestones, with his 2013 breakthrough track 'My House' on OFF Recordings catapulting him to new heights. It claimed the #1 position on Beatport's deep house chart and reached #3 overall. The track remains one of Beatport's best sellers, and Purple Disco Machine is now ranked #2 on the online retailer's all-time Top 100 Artists chart.

Following this success, the German producer continued to dominate charts with original tracks, including collaborations with Boris Dlugosch on Defected for 'L.O.V.E.' and 'Set It Out', collaborations with Aeroplane on Spinnin’ Deep for 'Sambal' and 'Counting On Me' featuring Aloe Blacc, as well as the double Pete Tong Essential New Tunes, 'Yo' on Kittball and 'Magic' on Exploited.

In 2017, he released his debut album 'Soulmatic' on Sweat It Out Records, later licensed to Sony Music in Europe.

'Soulmatic' produced two major singles: the Ibiza 2017 club hit 'Body Funk', which was the #1 Disco track on Beatport for five months, and the radio favorite 'Devil In Me' featuring Joe Killington & Duane Harden, a hit in France, Germany, and Italy. 'Soulmatic' has accumulated over 42 million combined streams and 200,000 radio plays.

In 2018, PDM continued with the album campaign, releasing 'Dished (Male Stripper)', which topped the Beatport and BBCR1 Dance charts and maintained a BBCR1 daytime playlist for 10 weeks, spending 4 weeks on the A List. 'Dished' has over 15 million combined streams and was a major dance record of the year.

2019 began with a re-release of 'Body Funk' and the launch of his second album campaign, now involving Universal Music for the UK & USA. April saw the release of Purple Disco Machine's first mix compilation.

Besides his impressive solo and collaborative productions, Purple Disco Machine is a sought-after remixer in global dance music, crafting remixes for A-list artists like Gorillaz, The Knocks, Chromeo, Jamiroquai, New Order, Claptone, and more. Upcoming remixes include Jax Jones & Years And Years and RUFUS DU SOL.

His remixes of the Defected club classic 'Shakedown – At Night' and 'Weiss – Feel My Needs' were major club hits, both reaching #1 positions on Beatport and Traxsource charts and earning numerous radio plays and streams.

2018 was rounded off by Purple Disco Machine's remix of Fatboy Slim’s 'Praise You'. Released on Defected Records, it topped Beatport, Traxsource, and Club charts, gathering millions of streams and securing wide radio plays in Europe.

It's worth noting that Purple Disco Machine's disco house grooves owe much to his father introducing him early on to classic funk sounds of the '70s and '80s, which significantly influenced Tino. By his teenage years, he not only wanted to listen to great music but also produce it and be part of the scene.

Tino recalls, "It was a crucial period for me as I managed to work at a local record store and secure a DJ residency at a Dresden club. These didn't pay, but I had access to an endless supply of records, giving me plenty of music to play on weekends."

With an ever-growing record collection and DJ residency, Tino focused on creating his music, spending years refining his sound and releasing under different projects/pseudonyms before founding Purple Disco Machine.

Outside the studio, Tino is a highly sought-after touring DJ, with his schedule busier than ever. His distinctive mix of disco, nu-disco, funk, soul, and house is delivered to dancefloors worldwide at top clubs, festivals, and events, including his enduring global residency at 'Glitterbox' events in Ibiza and Pacha. 2019 will see Purple Disco Machine's inaugural 'live' tour across various European cities in the fall.
