Noah Kahan
Noah Kahan is an American singer-songwriter from Strafford, Vermont, whose move from online releases to major-label recording began while he was still in high school. Born Noah Berkenkamp Kahan on January 1, 1997, he first shared music online with the help of a producer and friend. His official debut single, “Young Blood,” drew attention on SoundCloud, and Republic Records signed him before he had released three tracks.
Kahan's early work led to “Hurt Somebody,” the single that became his breakthrough. It earned gold certification in the United States and charted in several international markets. The song also gave its name to his 2018 EP, Hurt Somebody. That year, he headlined tours in Europe and elsewhere, played dates in Australia, and supported George Ezra and Leon Bridges on tour. His first album, Busyhead, arrived in 2019.
He followed Busyhead with I Was / I Am in 2021 and Stick Season in 2022. Stick Season became his mainstream commercial breakthrough and led to a 2023 Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. In 2026, Kahan released his fourth album, The Great Divide, which set record-breaking streaming and vinyl sales for a No. 1 rock album debut on the Billboard 200. The album was followed by The Great Divide Tour, his first stadium tour.
