Mom+Pop
Mom + Pop Music is a New York City independent label built around indie rock, alternative music and electronic pop. Founded in 2008 by Michael Goldstone, the company has been led by Goldstone and co-president Thaddeus Rudd, who joined in 2009.
Its roster and release history connect guitar-driven bands, singer-songwriters and electronic artists without treating those worlds as separate lanes. Courtney Barnett, Sunflower Bean, Beach Bunny and Caamp sit alongside artists such as Del Water Gap, Maya Hawke and Lily Fitts, while Tycho, Porter Robinson, Madeon and Magdalena Bay reflect the label's electronic side. Mom + Pop has also released music by Tom Morello and Tash Sultana.
The label's catalogue includes work from acts such as Jai Wolf, Tiny Habits, underscores, Odie Leigh and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers. Earlier artists associated with Mom + Pop include Andrew Bird, Flume, Ingrid Michaelson, Metric, Neon Indian, Sleigh Bells, Tokyo Police Club and Wavves.
