Post Malone

Austin Richard Post (born July 4, 1995), better known by his stage name Post Malone, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and guitarist signed to Republic Records. Born in Syracuse, New York, and raised in Grapevine, Texas, Posty gained fame after releasing his debut single, “White Iverson,” on SoundCloud in February 2015.

In an interview with Noisey, Posty explains how he got his stage name:

I was looking for a name ‘cause I already have all these songs done and I couldn’t think of anything, so I put my name in a rap name generator and it said “Post Malone.”

Posty discussed releasing a debut studio album in March of 2016, but after various setbacks, the album never came to fruition. In its place, on May 12th, 2016, he released his first mixtape, August 26th, to critical acclaim. He eventually released his debut album, Stoney, on December 9th, 2016. His follow-up, beerbongs & bentleys, was released on April 27, 2018, and became one of the biggest releases of the year, sealing Posty’s superstar status. The latter became his first album to top the Billboard 200.

Posty’s third studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, was released on September 6, 2019, and became his second album to top the Billboard 200 charts. Posty would yet again show his streaming dominance as the album boasted the most single-week streams of any album in 2019. The album saw him experiment with pop music for the most part.

Posty and his now-fiancée welcomed a daughter in May 2022. On June 3, 2022, he released his fourth studio album, Twelve Carat Toothache. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. To celebrate the number of diamond singles he has in the United States, he released a compilation album titled The Diamond Collection on April 21, 2023. Posty released his self-titled fifth studio album, AUSTIN, on July 28, 2023. The album also debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. It was his first project to not feature any artists and not have any rap songs as he chose to stick to pop music. He also produced and played the guitar on every single song from the album.

On August 16, 2024, Posty released his sixth studio album, F-1 Trillion, which saw him experimenting with country music. The album became his third to top the Billboard 200.
