Post Malone

Austin Richard Post (born July 4, 1995), better known as Post Malone, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and guitarist signed to Republic Records. Born in Syracuse, New York, and raised in Grapevine, Texas, Posty rose to fame after releasing his debut single, "White Iverson," on SoundCloud in February 2015.

In an interview with Noisey, Post Malone explained how he got his stage name:

I needed a name since I had all these songs done and couldn't think of one, so I put my name into a rap name generator, and it came up with "Post Malone."

Posty discussed releasing a debut studio album in March of 2016, but after several setbacks, the album didn't materialize. Instead, on May 12th, 2016, he released his first mixtape, August 26th, to critical acclaim. He eventually released his debut album, Stoney, on December 9th, 2016. His next album, beerbongs & bentleys, was released on April 27, 2018, becoming one of the year’s biggest releases and solidifying Posty’s superstar status. This album was his first to reach the top of the Billboard 200.

Posty’s third studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, came out on September 6, 2019, marking his second album to top the Billboard 200 charts. Once again, he demonstrated his streaming success, as the album had the most single-week streams of any album in 2019. This album had him mainly experimenting with pop music.

Posty and his fiancée welcomed a daughter in May 2022. On June 3, 2022, he released his fourth studio album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. In celebration of the number of diamond singles he has in the United States, he released a compilation album titled The Diamond Collection on April 21, 2023. Posty released his fifth self-titled studio album, AUSTIN, on July 28, 2023. This album also debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. It was his first project without featuring any artists and having no rap songs, as he chose to focus on pop music. He also produced and played the guitar on every song from the album.

On August 16, 2024, Posty released his sixth studio album, F-1 Trillion, which saw him experimenting with country music. The album became his third to top the Billboard 200.
