Post Malone
Post Malone broke through in 2015 with “White Iverson,” a cloud rap single that led to a deal with Republic Records and introduced Austin Richard Post's loose, melodic approach to rap and singing. Born July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York, he began his musical career in 2010 and developed a sound that moves between hip-hop, pop, trap, R&B, rock and country.
His debut album, Stoney (2016), produced the Diamond-certified “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo. Its successor, Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, set multiple streaming records, and earned an Album of the Year nomination at the 61st Grammy Awards. The album included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers “Rockstar,” featuring 21 Savage, and “Psycho,” featuring Ty Dolla Sign.
Later in 2018, Malone teamed with Swae Lee for “Sunflower,” made for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The song became the highest-certified recording in RIAA history and the first to receive 2× Diamond certification. His third album, Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019), also opened atop the Billboard 200 and received an Album of the Year Grammy nomination. Its single “Circles” spent 61 weeks on the Hot 100 and remains his biggest hit single; it also set the record for the longest climb to number one on the Adult Contemporary chart by a solo artist, taking 41 weeks.
Twelve Carat Toothache (2022) and Austin (2023) both reached number two on the Billboard 200. In 2024, Malone returned to the top of the Hot 100 with his appearance on Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight,” then with “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen. The latter marked his first country pop song and introduced F-1 Trillion, his sixth album and country music debut, which became his third Billboard 200 number-one album.
Malone has sold more than 150 million records in the United States, according to the RIAA. His awards include eleven Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards and six MTV Video Music Awards, alongside eighteen Grammy nominations. He was the first solo lead artist to top both the Rap Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts, and, as of 2025, had nine Diamond-certified songs, second only to Drake.
