Niall Horan
Niall James Horan (born September 13, 1993) is an Irish singer-songwriter, musician, and founder of Modest! Golf Management company. He auditioned for The X Factor at the age of 16 as a solo performer and gained worldwide recognition when he and four other boys were combined to form the pop boy band One Direction, which became one of the top boy bands globally. Since the band's hiatus in 2015, Horan has released two solo albums, collaborated with artists like Maren Morris, Julia Michaels, and Ashe, and created a track for the animated comedy film Smallfoot.
In September 2016, it was announced that Niall had signed a solo contract with Capitol Records. Following this, Horan released his debut solo single "This Town," becoming the first One Direction member to release solo music. "This Town" highlights his songwriting abilities and vocals, as Horan simplifies everything to just himself and his guitar. To support the single, he also uploaded a one-take acoustic version of the song. The track peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart on January 14, 2017.
In May 2017, "Slow Hands," a tribute to Horan's ‘70s and '80s classic rock influences, was released. This song peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart on September 30, 2017. Horan’s debut solo album Flicker was released on October 20, 2017, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 152,000 copies in its first week.
Three years later, Horan released his second album Heartbreak Weather, which included four singles: "Nice to Meet Ya," "Put a Little Love on Me," "No Judgement," and "Black and White." The album debuted at number one on both the Irish Albums Chart and the UK Albums Chart. It also entered the US Billboard 200 at number four with 59,000 album-equivalent units and 42,000 pure album sales. Later that year, Niall held a show at Royal Albert Hall with Ashe for We Need Crew.
