Marc Kinchen, known as MK, is the Detroit-born DJ, producer and remixer behind the remix of Nightcrawlers’ “Push the Feeling On,” an internationally successful version that reached number three on the UK Singles Chart. He also worked with Nightcrawlers frontman John Reid on later releases, though those records did not match the chart impact of “Push the Feeling On.”

Born August 3, 1972, Kinchen first reached number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1993 and 1994 with “Always” and “Love Changes,” both credited to MK featuring Alana. Alana Simon sang lead vocals on the two tracks, and the pair also recorded “Burning,” described as an underground house anthem. “Always” later peaked at number 69 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1995. Kinchen also reached the dance chart as 4th Measure Men with “4 You.”

Remixing has remained central to his work. His remix of Céline Dion’s “Misled” became the first number-one Billboard Dance/Club Play hit of Dion’s career. He remixed Betty Boo’s “Thing Goin’ On,” which rose to number five on that chart, Sofia Shinas’ “The Message,” which reached number 20, and Jody Watley’s “Your Love Keeps Working On Me,” which reached number two. His later remix and production credits include work involving Lana Del Rey, Dev, Enrique Iglesias, Sky Ferreira, Ellie Goulding, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Tricky.

In November 2013, MK’s remix of Storm Queen’s “Look Right Through” was released through Defected Records and Warner Music and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. In April 2021, he earned his first number one on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart as a featured artist on Anabel Englund’s “Underwater,” a track he also co-produced.
