Jim-E Stack
Jim-E Stack is the professional name of James Harmon Stack, an American songwriter, record producer, and DJ whose work spans solo releases, collaborations, and remixes across pop, electronic music, and adjacent scenes. Born in San Francisco, California, he is based in Los Angeles, California.
As a solo artist, Stack has released music that frequently incorporates guest vocalists and collaborators. His releases have featured Bon Iver, Empress Of, Charli XCX, Lucky Daye, Ant Clemons, Jana Hunter of Lower Dens, and the Range, reflecting a practice of building tracks around distinctive voices as well as electronic production.
Stack is also active behind the scenes as a songwriter and record producer. In those roles, he has collaborated with artists including Dominic Fike, Kacy Hill, Octavian, Bon Iver, Joji, Caroline Polachek, Haim, Diplo, Empress Of, and Lorde, among others. His credits place him in both artist-led projects and studio-centered work, where production and songwriting overlap.
In addition to original material, Stack has produced remixes for a range of artists. His remix work includes tracks by Wet, Anna of the North, Rostam, Active Child, and Lower Dens, alongside other acts. This remix catalog sits alongside his DJ identity and complements his broader output as a producer and songwriter.
