Beabadoobee's third album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, became her first to top the UK Albums Chart when it arrived on August 9, 2024. The record followed a rapid rise for Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, the Filipino-British singer and songwriter born on June 3, 2000, whose early releases moved from intimate lo-fi and indie pop toward fuller indie-rock arrangements.

Recording as Beabadoobee, Laus began her catalogue with the 2018 EP Lice, then released Patched Up later that year after signing with Dirty Hit. Three further EPs followed between 2019 and 2021: Loveworm, Space Cadet, and Our Extended Play. Her first studio album, Fake It Flowers, arrived in October 2020 and received critical acclaim. Her 2022 follow-up, Beatopia, produced the hit “The Perfect Pair.”

Her growing profile also brought major touring opportunities. Beabadoobee supported Dirty Hit labelmates the 1975 on several legs of their Music for Cars Tour, and later opened for Clairo on the Immunity Tour, Olivia Rodrigo on the Guts World Tour, and Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour. She was nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Brit Awards, received the Radar Award at the 2020 NME Awards, and was named among the predicted breakthrough acts in the BBC’s Sound of 2020 poll of music critics.
