BANKS
Banks, the stage name of Jillian Rose Banks, broke through with the platinum-certified single “Beggin for Thread,” a track from her 2014 debut album Goddess. The American singer and songwriter, born June 16, 1988, first introduced her music through the 2013 extended plays Fall Over and London.
After those early releases, Banks signed with Harvest Records and issued Goddess, which received positive reviews and reached number 12 on the Billboard 200. Its success established the intimate, electronically framed pop sound associated with her early work. She followed it with The Altar in 2016, which peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200, and III in 2019, reaching number 21. III brought her strongest critical acclaim to that point.
Following her departure from Harvest Records, Banks released her fourth studio album, Serpentina, independently in 2022. The album moved toward a more experimental sound than her earlier records and drew favorable reviews, though it had more modest commercial results. Her fifth studio album, Off with Her Head, followed in 2025.
