Jillian Rose Banks, known mononymously as Banks, is an American singer and songwriter. She first drew wider notice in 2013 with the release of two extended plays, Fall Over and London, which set the stage for her move into full-length releases.

After those early EPs, Banks signed with Harvest Records and released her debut studio album, Goddess, in 2014. The album received positive critical reception and reached number 12 on the Billboard 200. One of its singles, “Beggin for Thread,” went on to receive platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking an early commercial high point in her catalog.

Banks followed with The Altar in 2016. The record continued her run of charting studio albums, peaking at number 17 on the Billboard 200, and was met with similar success to her debut. In 2019, she released her third studio album, III, which peaked at number 21 on the same chart. According to available summaries, III brought her the strongest critical acclaim of her career up to that point.

After departing Harvest Records, Banks released her fourth studio album, Serpentina, independently in 2022. The album was described as exploring a more experimental sound than her previous work. It achieved modest commercial success while receiving favorable reviews from music critics. She continued her studio-album output with Off with Her Head, released in 2025.
