Kompakt
Kompakt grew out of Cologne’s Delirium record shop, founded in 1993 and renamed in 1998. Owned by Wolfgang Voigt, Michael Mayer and Jürgen Paape, the independent label became closely associated with the city’s electronic music culture through releases rooted in microhouse and minimal techno.
Its catalogue has connected Cologne figures such as Mayer and Paape with artists including Gui Boratto, Kölsch, Sascha Funke, Joyce Muniz, Schlammpeitziger and Rex The Dog. Kompakt is also known for its Total compilation series, a recurring snapshot of the label’s electronic orbit.
