Dixon

Dixon, born Steffen Berkhahn on 21 December 1975, is a German house and techno DJ, producer and co-founder of the Berlin-based record label Innervisions. He built his profile through DJ sets that move across house and techno, including deep, minimal and disco-inflected strains of club music.

Before working as a DJ, Berkhahn was a professional footballer for FC Magnet Mitte and played for the East Germany national team. He later became identified with Berlin’s electronic-music circuit as Dixon, developing a career as both a performer and label founder through Innervisions.

Resident Advisor voted Dixon number one in its annual Top 100 DJ Poll from 2013 through the poll’s final annual edition in 2016. His work has also extended beyond records and clubs: he is joint owner of the club-wear brand Together We Dance Alone. In 2019, he launched Transmoderna, an Ibiza residency and digital platform sharing the same name.
