Axel Boman
Axel Boman broke through in 2010 with Holy Love, an EP for Pampa Records whose track “Purple Drank” became a house-music hit. Born in Stockholm in 1979, the Swedish DJ and producer has since toured extensively and remixed artists including John Talabot and Harald Bjork.
Boman’s work moves through house and electronic music with a sound described as raw, playful and drenched in soul. He is part of Studio Barnhus, the Swedish label he co-founded, and has also released music through labels including Aus Music, hfn music, 2MR and Turbo Recordings.
He graduated from the Valand School of Fine Arts in 2010. His debut album, Family Vacation, drew heavy inspiration from his German cousin Julius Drescher. Boman is the son of actress Iwa Boman.
